Thankfulness #8

Lori was one of our college kids when we were College Sponsors early in our marriage.

Tricia is my best friend although we have lived in different states for the last 22 years.  We met at bible study over 25 years ago and our girls and our sons became best friends.  We have seen each other at least once a year in person!  We just enjoy being together and sharing our lives with each other.

This is my girlfriend, Terri from high school.  We reconnected a couple years ago via an area high school reunion.  Our dads were in the service and we liked the same boy in 10th grade!!   She is going through thyroid cancer treatment right now....praying for her each day!

Thankful for long time friends that I don't see often enough but when we get together it's like we saw each other yesterday!  And all from different stages in my life!

Blog Friends Are the Nicest!

I got to meet another blog friend and now she's my real friend who I met through a blog!  :)  Anyway, I met up with Cindy from Consider it All Joy recently in Phoenix.  She lives near my mom and we had a wonderful lunch at Mimi's.  We almost didn't eat because we talked the whole time.  We had such a nice time getting to know each other in person and really have a lot in common.  She is as nice in person as she is in her blog and what a talented woman she is too. I even think that we resemble each other a bit!

I still love meeting new people and finding new friends even in my 50's.  I think you never have enough friends and I think Jesus would say the same thing too!

Friends in Dallas

We met up with some friends in Dallas and even found Elvis!!  How funny that Elvis was in a patio seating area of a Tex Mex restaurant called Chuy's.  It was delicious!

Laura's daughter, Leslie and my son, Dallas went to elementary school together.  Laura and I were part of a great group of gals who volunteered at the school and gave ourselves to the PTA for many wonderful years.  We all meet for lunch each year when Laura comes to town for her annual visit.  I was the first one to visit her since she moved to Texas 13 years ago.  I didn't think it had been that long!
Here we are with our husbands.  What a great night...good food, fun place and good friends to catch up with.  Thanks Mark & Laura for treating us to a great Texas meal!  The sopapillas were to die for!!!
This is the beautiful home of our friends, Lucinda and Kevin.  They moved to Texas almost 3 years ago and love it.

Isn't that a precious little face!  I got to play grandma to this little one for the morning.  He was a delight.  Can't you tell???
And this little one...oh my, all girl and such a beauty.  I enjoyed her too!
It was so neat to catch up with them and their precious family.  Their oldest was in school so we missed seeing her.  God bless this family.
What fun it is to visit new places and so extra special to meet up with old friends and catch up on their lives.  I was blessed and so happy to get to spend time with each one.  Can't wait until next time!

Happy Valentine's Day and more!

Happy Valentine's Day!
Happy Birthday Mom!

I went to tea last weekend which was a heart research fundraiser.
Here I am in this cute shop called the Cottage Rose with
Brenda, Linda and Jackie.
We had a wonderful tea lunch and the cute heart cookie on the heart plate was our dessert.
It was delightful.
Looking forward to a candlelight dinner with the hubby tonight.

What have you done to celebrate lately?

Old Friends = Good Times!!

I met some of my old friends(we've known each other for almost 20 years and yes we are all a bit older!) for lunch today in Glendora where we lived for 12 years.  I moved away 7 years ago, Laura now lives in Texas, Karen lives in LaVerne, Diane and Tricia still live in town.  It was Laura's visit to town that got us all together for our annual lunch at Grand Burger.  The food IS NOT why we meet there....it's tradition!!!  It was great catching up on all of our families and remembering good times.  We all met when our children were in elementary school.  Karen and I met sitting in those tiny kindergarten chairs for a volunteer meeting.  Both of us had a kindergartener and a 2 year old.  We ended up watching each others little ones so we could volunteer in the classroom without them.  The boys all became good friends as did Karen and I.  We had the best PTA times together and later enjoyed bunco and eating out once a month for years.  It was good to see everyone and let's do it again soon!  Missed you Jeanne, Susan, Theresa and Debbie!

Mama Mia the movie

Dwight and I loved Mama Mia on Broadway in New York.  We saw the movie version tonight with some friends and it is very entertaining.  Go see it for something fun.  You will come out smiling.  Enjoy!
