It was Glorious!!

I got to spend my 4th of July weekend with Bella and Dylan and their parents.  Dustin and Kayla came along too.  What a fun, family weekend we had....starting with an old fashioned BBQ in the middle of a rain storm!!  Yes, that's my son from Deadliest Catch fame BBQing our burgers on his porch!

Then Miss Bella had to show grandma her princess dress and a few ballerina moves!

The best part was getting to touch those two precious grandbabies onces again.  Little Dylan came right up to each of us and sat on our laps and just smiled.  He was so happy to see ALL of us!

Miss Bella got to spend the night in the motel with us....doesn't she look cute in her Cracker Barrel dress??
Then it was off to the Rockies game for the 4th...BUT of course we got rained on first.  They had a thunderstorm every afternoon while we were there.

I love that smile!!!

It was such a beautiful day that we took a walk to the park where we had a little family fun.  The guys played basketball and chicken on the low balance beam.  Lots of laughing and fun!

Then it was onto bowling!  Dallas loves to bowl...it's family fun!  Can you tell these two are brothers???

Dallas teaching his kiddos to bowl!

Dylan got his first lesson and enjoyed it!  Clapping for himself as the ball rolled down the alley!

We had to see a little more of Colorado so we headed to the mountains near the Red Rocks and went for a hike.  It was a gorgeous day with gorgeous surroundings and views.

The remnants of the Walker home high up on the mountain.
Views of the Red Rocks!

Love those clouds and the blue skies!
What a great place for a photo!
Here all of us are at a place where the people of Colorado were going to build a home for President's to vacation in.  It was never completed.  Gorgeous views and lots of lady bugs...I had never seen so many and they bite!!!
Look at all the lady bugs on this rock and they were flying all around us too.
My DIL, Selena and I enjoying the view of the Red Rocks.
Bella wanted to show me how she can swim with her floating swim suit or her babing suit as she calls it!

Dylan likes the water too but can't yet float on his own.

It all came to an end too soon but what a great 4th of July we all had!  Thanks Dallas and Selena for your hospitality!  We sure enjoyed seeing you and can't wait to come back again!

It's a Beautiful Day!

It's a beautiful sunny day here in southern California.  We are due to be in the 90's, I think!  Here's what I'm looking at this morning while I eat my breakfast.  I should be outside eating my breakfast!  This our dog Speed pleading with me to come out and play!  Please????

Have a great day and rejoice in it!  I'm off to see Mason today!

Pretty Lights!

So.... I was riding home in the car with hubby a couple weeks ago.  I had my camera out looking at all the photos I'd taken that day and decided to play with my camera.  I started taking photos of the traffic thru the windshield.  I amazed myself by the pretty squiggles that my camera was seeing in this traffic.  What else do you do while you're driving in traffic on your way home???

Hope you enjoy this as much as I do!

Fun on the Beach

We had one sunny afternoon on the beach and it felt so good to sit in the sand and enjoy it!
Mason was a busy body and was using his mom as his jungle gym on the blanket.  He decided he wanted her sunglasses!  And boy was he quick!

He was using leverage to get those sunglasses off her face!  :)

Then it was onto the ties on her swimsuit...oh, let's see what we can pull on now!!
Then he found a bucket!
Then it was off to find something else...A TIP FOR ALL MOM OF CRAWLERS.... to keep a crawler on the blanket...just sprinkle it with puffs.  He stayed on the blanket playing and eating for quite some time.

Then it was off to see the water....waiting for the waves to come in.
He loved the sand in his toes and the water at his feet.  He didn't cry once and just stood there waiting for the next wave.

Oh...Uncle Dustin found something...I wonder what it is??
Uncle Dustin running to see Kayla and who knows what he's got up his sleeve after that??
Kayla, Dustin, Danielle and Mason
Danielle, Mason, me(with my white legs!!) and the hubby
All of us!
Look what Uncle Dustin found???  The biggest sand crab we had ever seen and there were a lot of them!

Dustin and Kayla loving on the sand crab!!
It was all too much fun!  Mason had to catch a quick nap to keep up his busy schedule!  All in a very fun day at the beach!

The Beauty of God

We had a wonderful time at the beach.  It turned out to be more of a natural beach that the surfers enjoy.  Lots of good waves!  The beach was a 15 min. hike from our camp.  The camp sites were on the bluffs above the coast.  Here are a few photos of God's gift to us on earth.

The path to the surfer beach.
A bunny played nearby!
Lots of natural vegetation.  My son caught this photo for me...I love it!
A flock of birds flew by and were changing their configuration as they flew.  Amazing!
More natural vegetation on the top of the bluffs and the ocean is the blue out yonder.
This is the surfer beach one morning....overcast and cool...
not too many people and lots of rocks!
Dolphins were hanging out with the surfers one afternoon.
Part of our campsite!
A beautiful sunset that I caught one night.  A great place to relax and renew at the beach enjoying God's creation.  Now back to reality!!!
