Juicy baby!!!

So the hubby is up early on his birthday and sees this infomercial and guess what we have now?
Yep...the Jack La Lane Power Juicer....so watch out when you come to our house...you will get jumped for some juice from the juice man himself, my husband! On the other hand...we've enjoyed juicing fresh fruit and drinking it each day. So this is what I mixed together yesterday and it was a yummy way to start my day....just another way we are eating healthy. Come on over and give it a try!!

Enjoy your day!

Another Rain Day!

It's another rainy day and the backyard is still flooded up to the back door. I had breakfast with a friend and now I'm trying to figure out how to make myself productive (besides blogging and facebook!). After my bout with the flu last weekend I got a huge burst of energy and cleaned out my pantry. Do you do that? I threw away all the expired items and there were a few. I'm learning that I don't need such a full pantry with only one child still at home only once in a while. It's a bit bare but now I know what I have.

Looking in....
The other side...there is one more shelf on the top and bottom. I couldn't get a good photo of it.

The hubby and I watched the movie Food Inc. and have vowed to eat less meat and use more natural foods with less preservatives. It's amazing what the food companies are putting in our food as filler to make it taste good and the government just looks the other way. We are going to start a garden and shop at our local farmer's market. I know some of you say...well, I've been doing that for years. It's just not the way of life in the city but we do have the Farmer's Market and other local fruit and vegetable stands to get locally grown food from.

So what are you doing different this year??

It's still Raining in Southern California!

It rained the hardest I ever seen in a long, long time today and it just kept coming. I had to go out to finish my homework for my photography class I'm taking and this is what I saw! I saw the whole rainbow and it was big and BRIGHT!!! I took this out the windshield of the car! It was so pretty!

We still have 3 more days of rain to come(so says the weatherman) and I say "Let it Rain!!!"

It's Raining in Southern California!!

It's been raining all day and I'm not complaining. Hubby and I have actually been lazy and watched two movies this afternoon. All of the sudden we didn't hear the rain and looked out our back door and this is what we saw! A little flood on our back patio. It will subside pretty quickly as it always does. I should have really green grass.

Thank you God for the rain! It clears up our air and the skies are so blue after a rain and soon enough our hills will once again be green and the mountains white with snow! Not complaining here at all!

Bye Bye Speed!

Speed our dog of almost 3 years took a trip last weekend to her new home in Colorado. Our oldest son talked his wife into taking her because I was thinking of finding her a good home since no one around here was giving her enough attention. (Sorry but I am not a dog person and I gave her my best but I thought she needed more.) So a road trip it was....my wonderful and dogloving son, Dallas (father of Miss Bella~she did not go...just got in the photo), the hubby, my youngest child, Dustin and Speed. They loaded up on Red Bull shots and Starbucks coffee for the 15 hour drive to Colorado. What a ride it was and all made it in one piece!

Our son....did this for this little guy who gives Speed the juiciest kisses!

AND for this little one who has been with Speed since we got her! This is her Speedy!
So goodbye from our home to my son's home where she will be totally loved on from sunrise to sunset. Now if they can teach her to do her business in the snow!!! I'll let ya know how it goes!

Happy Birthday Bella!

Happy 4th Birthday Bella!

Bella is our oldest grandchild and is visiting here from Colorado. We treated her to a Chuck E Cheese birthday. She was so excited and even got her photo taken
with Chuck E Cheese and he patted her on her head (she tells everyone that!).
She said it was her best birthday ever!

She didn't want her photo taken...she just wanted to go inside!
She found this ride first thing and loved it!

Her grandma and grandpa think she's pretty neat!

The whole family after a fun 2-1/2 hours of Chuck E CHeese fun!

What a way to start 2010

2009 was a tough year for us financially and personally and this blog has helped get me through it. I was thinking that I was so glad this year was done and we could start 2010 a new when on December 30th my husband was laid off. We were somewhat shocked but his company has been going through lay offs all year. So here we are joining many of you now with a 50+ spouse looking for a job. We are praying that God will provide and he always does and we know he's in control. We are still working out the separation agreement...so please pray for an acceptable outcome.

Then, my father-in-law who I've been blessed with for over 31 years passed away Tuesday morning of congestive heart failure. He was 90 years old. I had a wonderful day with him and Arlene (my mother-in-law) that day. We celebrated with the rest of the family a couple days later. It's hard to accept he's gone from this earth but he is in heaven and for that I am thankful. I look forward to seeing him there one day!

So for 2010...it's been an interesting start and I'm looking forward to trusting God to see what's going to happen next.

I had to share this....

I'm catching up on my blog reading. I've missed staying in touch with some pretty neat gals and today I was reading Lelia's post called .75 cent Jesus and it touched my heart and convicted me to be more like Jesus. I hope you will go by and read this and make a note to be a better Christian this year and share Jesus in the little things. Click here or on .75 cent Jesus above to read Lelia's post.

Happy New Year!!
