Do you ebay?

Where have I been?? Well besides working a few hours each day at our small business due to this crazy economy...I have been busy ebaying a bunch of stuff(precious memorabilia) that we have stored and moved numerous times over the last 30 years and now realize that we don't want to be held hostage by stuff.

So...when hubby and I put away the Christmas boxes; we got down all the memorabilia boxes. Oh...we have a few of those. Do you have lots of memory boxes too? I had a couple for me...stuff from high school, our wedding, stuff from my room as a teenager, my 45rpm record collection (I don't have a record player any more so I don't know what I would do with them now anyway...however, Donny Osmond still makes my heart skip a beat!) and a couple for hubby~his football pads and helmet(gone to the dump), his refereeing uniform and jacket(it's a bit too small), GI Joes, boy scout stuff and what not. We actually condensed 10 plastic bins down to 4 bins. One each for the kids and one for the hubby and I. We have to keep a little something for the kids to go through one day! We asked our children if they wanted any of it and they said no, not really. So we threw a ton of stuff away and then...

It was to Ebay I went! I photographed, made a list, and posted all our precious stuff. Over 53 items we had on the original list. I cannot believe what some of our stuff that we thought was junk is worth and stuff we thought was worth something is NOT! I LOVE Ebay buyers. It has been a bit of work but I am so glad to ship it to someone and not just send it to the dump. So if you have some old stuff or new stuff laying around that you don't want, ebay is a great way to get rid of it and make a little cash on the side! Do you ebay?? How do you get rid of your stuff?

Hi Connie, sounds like you and your husband have been BUSY! But in a very productive way so that's wonderful.

I've only purchased a few Curves itmes from ebay two years ago. That's it. Your idea however has prompted me to consider...

God bless you and I wish you well with sales. What's your Ebay web name?

I've never done it, in fact I just recently made my first purchase on it. I will have to remember this though when I feel the need to let go of things..which my children tell me all the time I have to much! They also let me know what they want when we die...little brats!

My uncles, some of my friends, also think Ebay is the best!!! In fact, for some of them it is their full time business. I am proud of you that you know how to do it all...I should come and observe how you do it. Thanks for the nudge needed to get me moving in this direction.

I would have no clue how to do it. You are good Girl!
So how is the new name coming? (hehehe)
OK, my blog is doing weird things, telling everyone I am now "scrappin in So Cal" which - I don't know where that came from.It was an old name I used on Scrapbooks.com. SO now, I don't have time to figure it out, funny it happened right when I get a new blog "dress". I am curious to see what it says when i post your comment.
HAGD! talk soon! karen

What a great idea Connie! I need to go through things here as well and like you, I hate taking everything to the dump. I'll have to figure out the ebay site and see what I can come up with..I'm afraid I'll get on ebay and buy more than I am getting rid of!...lol

My stepmother sold Tupperware and her craft items on ebay for years. I think she stopped just this past year. She is in her late seventies and she said it tied her down too much. :>)

She shipped Tupperware all over the world and it really turned into a nice side income for them during their retirement years.

We usually donate our items to our local Good Will Industries' site. I had quite a large selection of paperback books and someone, somewhere is enjoying them. Plus, Good Will made some money for their organization, too. I'll check out your store but we're doing the same project of reducing what we have in to simplify. I have purchased one or two things on ebay and it's fun to look.

Hi there!

I've wondered where you've been.

Nope, I've never tried Ebay, but it sounds like something I should. You'll have to tell us more about it.

Looking forward to seeing you soon. Did you get my last e-mail a few days ago?

Hugs!
Kat

I have never bought or sold on ebay, but I might give it a try. My MIL is famous for her yard sales, so I usually just take my junk over to her sale.

I do a little ebaying. Although, my husband who is restoring a '38 chevy LOVES it for car parts! He buys and sells ALOT of stuff on there. Although with the economy, things seem to be slowing down just a bit. Even on ebay.

Good luck with all your stuff you listed!
