Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs!
It's cloudy and cool today and I'm okay with that! I'm glad to be home after a quick trip to Arizona to visit my dad who is very sick and in ICU at this time. He is a bit better and breathed on his own for a couple hours yesterday. He has been on a ventilator since last Monday and they need to get him breathing on his own. Small steps and lots of prayer are getting him through each day. My brother said he opened his eyes the widest and was the most responsive when I was there.
I am his FAVORITE child!! I really am! But aren't we all our parent's favorites?? We've always had a wonderful bond. I was his first child and followed him around everywhere. I loved watching sports with him, working on things in the garage with him and just hanging out with him. He was my softball coach, my biggest cheerleader and a loving dad. He was a man of few words and is very private at times. He is however, the life of the party when he gets a drink in him!! Everyone loves him and he's in his prime! However, his drinking and smoking have taken a toll on his body and that's a major part of what's keeping him from healing faster.
Thanks for praying and keeping us in your thoughts. We all love our dads no matter what and that's the way it should be! Love ya Dad! Praying that you will be better soon!

I love that you feel like you are his favorite! When my Mamaw died a few years ago, I found out that without knowing it, each of us thought we were her favorite. That's how I want my LITTLES to feel....like THEY are my favorite! Praying.........
You are right Connie! No matter what we love our dads and moms! My dad has been gone for more that 11 years and though are relationship was filled with abuse I will never forget the moment he passed. I was holding his hand and giving him permission to go. The history didn't matter, only the moment! God had healed my heart and I treasure being there to help usher him to glory!!
So glad you got to come see your dad! Continuing to pray!!!
If you could - would you mind sending your address via email or FB message - Thanks
Blessings, Cindy

I am sure you are his favorite. Who could be more fun than you. I am hurting with you. I can't imagine the pain and sadness you are experiencing these days. Praying for you sincerely.
awh, Connie, I will keep you in my prayers. My dad pasted more than twenty years ago suddenly with a heart attack. I can remember the trauma as though it was yesterday. No matter how old we are....we still love our "daddys".
Praing for your Dad and for you. I have been taking care of my 85 year old Dad and he isn't doing very well, but one thing for sure he knows that I love him. You keep having faith and strength for your Dad and yourself
Connie,
Even though my own dad has been gone for 10 yrs and my mom now 1 yr, it's never easy watching another deal with the pain of having a ill parent and not knowing what's going on. I loved reading your post of how special you are to your dad. I will live vicariously through you thinking of my own parents who are no longer here.
Also San Diego has cleared up some, we do still have cooler mornings and the weather report is saying it might rain again on Friday...Oh well it's good for my plants.
